Media Experiences

We are exposed to media every day. Watching the news, browsing online, or reading newspapers, all contribute to the media. In my media experiences, it has changed my view on the world and how I consistently stick to my values to make sure I never change. Over the years, I have experienced times when the media is biased or lead us to false information. It seems that the media relays news but then switches it up to certain extent where it could make people believe they are lying. I feel that some of the information exposed through the media is all false and stirs up a discussion. I feel like magazines defame public figures all the time and it leads people to either dislike or like them. Magazines ruin people’s reputation and I don’t think that’s how our media should act. I have come to a conclusion that our media is such a big gossip circle, that it’s hard to believe what is the truth.Of course the news is correct but half of the news is bad. The news rarely talks about the good and how the world accomplished something. The media is a place in which you need be prepared to be lied to.

  1. I completely agree with you. The media is everywhere and we can not do anything about it. It is like we are engulfed in the media and it plays an influential part in many lives. In my eyes, I believe the media is both a good and bad thing. It can be a good thing in the sense that it can help to inform everyone about what is going on in the world. At the same time though, the media can tell you information that is wrong. The media only reports and broadcasts things that they believe people would want to hear.

  2. I would have to agree that the media is too concerned on people rather than problems that are currently affecting society. Every time I go on the internet or the television it’s talking about celebrities. It’s always gossip on the media, always talking about how one is cheating on the other or how one wore a hideous outfit. I wish there could be more information on what problems going on around the world. The media is a sketchy place to get information because you never know what is true or what is false. At times media is helpful but never depend on their information.

  3. I acknowledge you for being able to stick to what you believe in. When everything around you believes in something different, it is very hard to stick to what you personally believe in. I agree with you that the media is too concerned with people rather than the problems that we have in our society today. The media is often too concerned in what celebrities are doing. There are always a lot of people try to report the lastest news about what is happening to celebrities, but their is not half as many people trying to interview that bad things that need help in this world such as the poor, or the disabilities. THe media needs to pay more attention to the problems affecting society such as diseases.

  5. A big purpose of the media today is to scare people into tendencies which allows there to be a constant money flow in companies that make medicine, healthy snacks, electronics, or anything else that people are tricked into thinking is necessary. Although there are very many sources of different types of media, it often becomes an issue of picking a certain source which sticks to its purpose. Headline news on Yahoo.com regarded Megan Fox's wardrobe and Justin Bieber tweeting about "baby-mama" problems. I may be wrong, but I think the media's focus should shift towards problems that actually matter to everyone.
